Description
This heavily Spalted Beech bud vase is 70mm wide and 150mm tall. The spalted beech is turned and sealed with sanding sealer and then sanded down from 240 grit, through the grades to 1000 grit. Two coats of EEE paste wax is then applied, buffing between each coat. A further two coats of shellac friction polish is then applied buffing between the coats. This gives a hard wearing durable finish while still retaining the natural feel of the wood.
Wood is a natural material and the colour and grain of the wood will differ. This is what makes each bud vase unique! Spalted timber is prized amongst woodturners. The spalting on this Beech is very striking.
