Description
This Spalted Beech coin dish is turned from some nicely figured seasoned Spalted Beech. The dish is 70mm wide and 50mm deep. The Spalted Beech when turned is sanded down through the grits to 1000 grit. This is then finished with shellac sanding sealer, de-nibbed and given 2 coats of EEE paste wax. There are 2 more coats of Shellac friction polish applied, buffing between coats, to give a hard durable finish while maintaining the natural feel of the wood.
Wood is a natural material and the colour and grain of the wood will differ. This is what makes each dish unique! Spalted timber is prized amongst woodturners.
